Random!

Ugh, this kind of sucks. Remember when I was complaining about going to bed with my contact lenses on? That was because around lunchtime, the day before yesterday, my left eye started... leaking. And being sensible to light. Not to mention being red. So I thought, 'let's ignore it and it will fix itself'. And it did. Kinda. You know, so far as I kept it rested. I doubt the hour of internets I had after dinner helped matters much. Didn't sleep all that much.

Of course, yesterday I woke up with a left eye red and tearing and swollen, so we realized that maybe I should have had it looked at, so I went to the hospital (and woah, what an hospital that was! I knew they'd built it not too long ago, but it was so big, and just-- a great hospital.) and the doctor (a cute one, too. He had that scruffy look I do like in men...) told me it was - surprise surprise! - my third conjunctivitis (okay, he didn't know the "third" part yet), so I should blah blah blah (when I started reciting that part for him, he laughed); then, when I reached the one pharmacy open, I had the ticket number 42 and they were dealing with client number 19.

Have spent better 31st mornings. :P

In the end, I only wore the right contact lens (you should have heard the way K laughed at that, when I told her I might have to), wore my pretty dress, put on my pretty shoes, and went out for dinner and after-dinner. And tell you what, it was glorious. :D I rarely had so much fun on New Year's Eve. It wasn't a big group, just about 15 people, but it was all people I really, really like. I laughed like a loon.

...until it finally sunk in what it means to (a) stay in the same place for over six hours and (b) wear a pair of shoes that are really not your size, but still are pretty enough that you want them to be. ("How do they feel?" "They fit... perfectly. There's, like, not a millimeter of free space. THIS IS CLEARLY SO MY SIZE.") Point (a) was felt by all, but I think I was the only one who wished her big toes were a little shorter.)

I still got home that was 6 a.m., which is quite the decent hour. I'm only sorry that I didn't have strength enough to come online - when I did it last year, I found Ni and Jojo! Blimey. I so, so regret not trying again this year too, but I was done for! All of today, I slept like it was my job.

Woah. This is getting to be one long entry. I couldn't get online all last week, so I had no chance to thank a few people - like [livejournal.com profile] __hibiscus, who sent me a wonderful card (Hermione's hair is just gorgeous! :D), [livejournal.com profile] remeciel, whose puppies were just so sweet, [livejournal.com profile] jadis31, WHO SENT ME THE GREATEST CARD EVER, I spent a whole hour (not joking) laughing because of, and [livejournal.com profile] ourmutualfiend.

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] ourmutualfiend.

I... have no words. Really. It was-- it was just-- I BLOODY ADORE YOU, WOMAN.

Aaaaaand a surprise! Well, now, "a surprise". Just something I did. I actually have the sketchbook up, amazingly enough.

Bruni's Sketchbook

Anyway - I really feel like I should thank you a lot of you. Individually. Because, really, there's so many persons I met here that I just love, and I'm so glad I actually do know you, but... yeah. Not very good at it. (the "thanking people who deserve it" thing, I mean.) So, just...
