The Imprescriptible Rights of the Reader

I have just (as in a couple of days ago, but that's irrelevant) found another kindred spirit who loves Pennac... I couldn't let it go by without some sort of party, now could I? :D

So, blame it on [livejournal.com profile] wild_boys. Who, as I'm told, is perfectly happy with taking said blame. :D

The Imprescriptible Rights of the Reader

01 The right not to read

02 The right to skip pages

03 The right not to finish

04 The right to reread

05 The right to read anything

06 The right to bovarysm (textually infectious disease)

07 The right to read anywhere

08 The right to nibble

09 The right to read out loud

10 The right to keep silent

From Daniel Pennac's Comme un Roman.

ETA: Oh, I forgot to mention that sooner or later I will build an enourmous stiletto, nick a pullman somewhere and start a trip in Europe (well, Australia is that bit too far).

Yeah, I've seen Priscilla, The Queen of the Desert. Pure madness, I tell you. Mwah!

ETA 2 - To Whom It May Concern:

I found an online site where you can download some good old "frustrating grafic adventure games". :) To play them you'll need ScummVM. Near each one of them I specified the language. So many of them are in Italian... *sigh* does anyone know of places where to find them in English? I'd love to play them, especially the first two Monkeys. :D

Links:
[Monkey Island 1] (Italian) | [Monkey Island 2] (Italian)
[Loom] (French)
[Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade] (English) | [Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis] (Italian)

If you have the chance to read it, do! Although, w_b said that the English translation is crap, so maybe you'd want to avoid that.

Or you could learn French.

And then you'll join us in the Pennac!adoration.

(Because, really, how can you not love Benjamin?)

OF COURSE I loved Priscilla! :D I had this big (vaguely surprised at first) smile on my face during all the movie.

While I won't say a word on the fact that Felicia shirtless attracted my attention, because what I don't need at the moment is to focus on truly disturbing realizations, Ralph Bernie could be really taken in consideration. Come on, the elegant lady I'll never be. :D When she comes out with the "That's just what this country needs: a cock in frock on a rock." Only I heard, obviously, the Italian version they've made, which I have now forgotten. Surprising? Oh, no.

But the point where they dance to I Will Survive! I was there, all "yeah! It's true! It was like this!" and then squealing, laughing and the such.

If I can get it to play Indiana Jones and the LC I'm going to be one happy bitch.
Mwah! I knew you'd be interested. :D Did you manage to play it? I'm re-playing MI1 at the moment. I had forgotten about Fester Shinetop, and I missed so much the Fettuccini Brothers! Anecdote about MiniBruni you don't need to know: the "rubber chicken with a pully in the middle" line striked me so much, that I used it once in a fake-fight I was having with someone. You can imagine the expression that got on the other's face.
