[Art] - Young Men and Their Gangly Limbs

Title: Young Men and Their Gangly Limbs
Characters: Remus, Sirius, Lily, and A Cake.
Rating: G. Mostly. PG for some half-naked boys? And a almost kiss? Which is apparently the only kind I can draw?
Notes: This is for [livejournal.com profile] sheafrotherdon and [livejournal.com profile] spacedye_vest, who are hands down two of my favorite persons in the whole wide world. And no, I'm not exaggerating. Incidentally, they're also illustrations for Young Men and Their Gangly Limbs. ...the pics, not Cate and Ni. (Ha, ha, ha. Oh god, make me shut up.)

"Mmmmm. So – " Sirius leaned in and slid a hand up the back of Remus' neck, pulling him in and kissing him fervently – a kiss that was wide-awake and messy and sharp, drag of lips and nip of teeth. He pulled back and wiped his mouth on the back of his hand, grinning a little wildly. "Happy Birthday," he said.

Remus blinked, pupils blown wide, and nodded dumbly.

"See you 'bout four?" Sirius said, fingers flexing in Remus' hair, scratching gently against his scalp.

Remus nodded again.

"Brilliant," Sirius said, and let him go. Remus bit his own lip, flushed a charming shade of pink, and slipped out the door. "Score," Sirius said under his breath, and did a little jig down the hallway on the way to the kitchen.
"I knew it," she said, sighing as she stepped through the fireplace. "I knew you'd fuck yourself over."

"Mmmmph!" said James.

"Evans!" Sirius added. "Oh Evans, goddess, witch among witches, I love you."

"Yeah, yeah, you and your very small prick," she said charmingly.

"Don't talk to James that way," he chided. "He's very sensitive."

"I was talking about you," she said dryly, leaning over the back of the couch.
"Hmmm." Remus carefully slid a finger beneath the spellotape at one corner.

"Oh for crying out loud," Sirius said. "It's not as if we'll use the paper again, just rip it!"

Remus arched an eyebrow and, even more slowly, slid a finger under the tape at the other corner.

"GAH!" Sirius exploded, and grabbed for the parcel, ripping at the paper indiscriminately.

Remus grabbed it back. "Mine!"

"Open it!"

"I am!"

"Open it quicker!"

Remus hugged it to his chest. "Sirius – "
Remus shifted closer, half-covering Sirius with his body, sliding a leg between Sirius' thighs. "Am I now?" he asked, nibbling a path up Sirius' throat.

"Hmmm," Sirius said. "Def'nitely."

"Can I have my real present now?" Remus whispered.

Sirius opened his eyes – when had they fallen shut exactly? – and looked up at Remus. He was smiling, the tiniest bit drowsy around the edges, but smiling with an affectionate want that made Sirius' belly flop over and his fingers itch to touch. "Real present?" he asked, wetting his lips.

There! These should have been done, oh, an awful lot of time ago. The Lily I did back in... December? Maybe? I know I was working on the couch pic while I was also doing Back Alley, the almost-naked one is dated February... and finally Sirius a week ago. :P

Drawing a bit more, ain't I? Well... the last eight/nine months have been awful, when it comes to that. I think I might have gotten myself out of that, and now I'm trying to catch up on all the things I've planned/wanted to do/promised and didn't deliver (which is the worst). Wish me good luck? ;P

Have just read the fic, and these are brilliant illustrations. Oh, those boys....

1. I'm enjoying the idea of Remus trying to be civil through tea with that vision of Sirius occupying his thoughts.

2. I love that Remus is holding onto that present as though it were his firstborn. They both look all of twelve years old, leave alone twenty.

3. Lily has the look of a woman in full possession of the fortitude and sarcasm it takes to deal with Marauders on a daily basis.

4. My saliva production has increased dramatically as a result of viewing this drawing.

Oh, I'm glad you liked them! :D Isn't that story the most precious thing?

1. Man, yes. God only knows what he was thinking about, instead of paying attention to Salazar and his goat. :D

2. Hehehe! I think that was the first scene that actually formed in my mind. It painted just so, so clearly in my mind. :3

3. And you can totally imagine what she had to deal with, once she decided that James wasn't that bad after all... ;P
