Nicola Calipari.
Now act as if I'm not here, because I shouldn't be, but there's a question I wanted to ask you, and if I don't now I'm afraid I never will.
The subject title sort of gives it away. I think many of you will have at least heard of Giuliana Sgrena, the Italian journalist kidnapped in Iraqi and released few days ago, and of Nicola Calipari, and of what happened to them.
Leaving aside hypothesis, suppositions and the like, also because I should be running now, even if I probably wouldn't have mentioned any anyway, what I really really would like to know is which is the public opinion, what newspapers, television news, people say about it, especially in the States.
Believe me, I'm not trying to be provocative or anything, I really want to know.
Go on, hit that button there and tell me.
Please?

I'm very interested too.
I, obviously, am convinced they did it on purpose. The motherfucking bastards do whatever they please, Iraq is their playground, if they thought Sgrena had seen something they didn't want her to see... So, yeah...
Still, I'm glad Italy paid and the women is safe home now.

If I said that wasn't the first thing that crossed my mind, that would be flat out lying. Especially when someone made me notice, before the release, that there seemed to be similarities between this and what happened with Ilaria Alpi.
And taking as a given that they tried to kill her on purpose... I wouldn't know if they hadn't intended to kill Calipari from the start. He worked for the Italian (Secret Services), and had always worked behind the scenes in these cases (Sgrena now, the two Simona before, and Enzo Baldoni); plus, from what some articles I read let on, he seemed to be very honest and very incorruptible, a man of sterling character.
And in all honesty, his death saddened me much more than the one of the helicopter pilot, or of the mercenary, long ago. (Named Quattrocchi... I don't know, have you heard of him?)
I'm glad she's back, too. :)
...just thought to let you know that in my mind you are becoming a panda, you know? :D
In any case, *loves you more*

However, the times when I see your icon and think "Huh? When did I write something here...?" are not few. :P

Back when the abductions first started, I followed all the news very closely.. But I have fallen out of practice of reading the paper, so....

I think it's rather sad I haven't heard anything about it until you mentioned it and I sought out information, but the news here has been filled with the story of four police officers who were killed on a routine operation, so nothing else has been making the front page, really. But I don't expect the Americans will do anything to the soldiers who killed him... The man who accidentally dropped a bomb on some Canadian soldiers didn't even get a slap on the wrist. :/

This too, in some ways, is an answer to my question. Not the one I hoped, but it doesn't make me surprised, either.

Yeah, I don't, either... *sigh*
I love you! ♥

The situation over there is not improving, really. Good thing they found all those horrible weapons of mass destruction to destroy them and make the world safe again for the wonder of democracy! :DDD
... OH WAIT!!
(I love you too~ <333)
