Fanart - take two.
Title: Mrs. Black
Fandom: ...guess.
Rating: Hey, I seem to be doing only G-rated pics lately.
Notes: I first thought of this roughly eight-nine months ago, after I read A Black in Wolf's Clothing, by Minx. While it's not directly related to the story, the inspiration surely came from there.
So, this is why we have a young and (hopefully) fine-looking Mrs. Black.
Er. In order to look like a proper painting, it would have needed a frame. And a sort-of-background. Of course, I thought of this only now.
Anyway: some of you may remember the very, very first sketch. There, the reference I used for the dress is way more clear than it's here. In any case, it's Cristofano Allori's "Judith with the Head of Holofernes", although this time around I changed things quite a bit - but who knows, maybe someone who studied Art History, and remembers it, has got that. :)
Me and proportions are still on no-speaking terms, so nothing to be gained there. Mrs Black does have an ego the size of a Quidditch field, though, so maybe I could make her head's dimension pass as "symbolic". :P
So. How is it? Honestly?

Her face and her hair are specially fabulous.

Really..? I don't know, the face seems too plain. Meh. I wanted to make her more haughty.

The fabric is GORGEOUS. Really amazingly textured and so soft compared to her.
I don't think her head is too big. Honestly, the only bit that's a little wonky is her ear. I think that was much more successful in the earlier sketch.
But she is lovely. <3

Nothing to say. When I draw, apart from the "eventual" consignee, there's always, always a little group of people I always have in mind.
Small bit of trivia: did you know that this was the first idea I had for your bday gift? Then, I opted for something that seemed more... appropriate, shall we say. ;)
Love you.

Concrit? Because you've outlined everything like a contour drawing, the nose is a bit unsettling, in that it's not consistent with the rest of the drawing. I can understand why you placed a line where the "shadow" of her nose would be in order to indicate depth, but since there's no light direction in this image and because you've outlined everything else, it would have worked better if you'd used some very gentle shading for the right of her nose (our left) and then drawn a thin line for the left (the direction she's turned towards).
Keep drawing! (and yayy for natural media!) ♥

Aaah the nose! I'm so stupid. At first I'd thought of trying to play with lights and shadows, and then promptly forgot as soon as I got far from the face. *sigh* Yes, you're right.

Hehehe! It's not like a have a choice, though. :D I'm still hopeless at anything else. And, well, even the idea of charcoal frightens me a bit, seeing how I'm the eraser's best friend - or its worst enemy, depending on how you look at it. :P
Thank you so much for your comment! I appreciated it a real lot, especially suggestions and concrits. :D
*hugs*
