Ooooh, fireworks at the window! :D

Hmm. If I knew why people are making them, it might be nice.

But not indispensable. :P

*watches*

Honestly - fireworks, fireflies or snow, and I'll regress to childhood.

Oh, and?

Today and tomorrow we've got a referendum, to validate or reject (I'm hoping for the "reject" part) a bill to change some parts of the Constitution. Without going into the specifics, amongst other things it would (a) give more powers to the Prime Minister by weakening Senate, Chamber and the President of the Republic, and (b) decentralize certain powers to the regions, like sanity administration. Which means that the poorer regions might not (and probably won't) be able to assure a minimum level of sanitary assistance.

I'm not too happy about this.

Aha! Welcome to 1990's Latin American! :(
We had that for sanity and education.

Disgusting, isn't it? Hope the NO wins with a big big difference. What's the sense in kicking Berlusconi out of office while carry on with his conservative policies?

Oh, but it's all a matter of how you wrap the candy. The main tv channels - the ones everyone in Italy are receives - are the three national ones, and the three that belong to our beloved Mr.B, Mediaset. Now, in Mediaset they decided to split the - I'm inclined to call them "spot", which is what in Italy we call them, but maybe commercial would be better? Ad? - about the referendum in five parts, each of them concentrating on an aspect of the bill.

And they started sending on heavy rotation only the one about the number of deputies decreasing of about 100 members.

The referendum would have taken place whatever party had won the elections, though! The bill had already been approved by the Senate in the past legislature, this is the last step.

Oh, and you know who was the bill's main promoter? Do you remember the genial man who wore the t-shirt with the satyrical vignette on Islam?
