Oh, ha, ha. I'm so going to hate myself in a very few hours.
But staying up late at night is something I adore, what can I do? (guess what, I actually know the answer to that question. :P Last time I stayed up all night I was barely functioning the rest of the day. Hocuspocushumptydumpty, I predict someone will be drinking lots and LOTS of coffee, later today...)
(Later today! Oh boy, I've got a morningful of classes. Am doomed. :D <-- Yes, I'm smiling, I'm actually in a very good mood. Which is a good thing, considering I've been rather tetchy lately. And therefore eating anything in reach. :P Subsequently, as a last desperate tentative to save itself, my stomach has started trying to stab me and making a very good job of it. :D And I keep adding smiling smilies! Woah, am I weird.)
You know, the fact is that I've gone to the movies with a friend tonight, and we saw one of the best movies ever. It was an Italian comedy, "Notte Prima degli Esami" - basically, it's the story of a group of friends, set in the late 80's (1989, to be exact), during the handful of days between the end of high school's classes, and the much dreaded Maturity Exams. (the title of the movie - The Night Before the Exams - comes from the title of a song that's become a classic, a symbol of that one night. Most girls/guys listen to it. Yes, I do know you couldn't have cared less, but when have I ever been known for talking about interesting stuff? Honestly. :P) ANYWAY, the movie was so much fun, and sweet, and nice, (with pretty boys, too, which doesn't hurt but is slightly disturbing, seeing how they're about four years younger than me, and I was Having Thoughts), and the soundtrack! :D First there was Wild Boys, which already made me smile, but when Baila Bamba started playing there was no helping it, I had to laugh. Also, I don't know if it's a coincidence, but Emiliano and me seem to find ourselves always part of the barmy crazy kind of public. (Birds of a flock... though that applies only to me.) The room was only full by half, but man, was that half noisy. I think they heard the laughter from upstairs. (I did my part, can't deny it.) There was also a witty comment or two thrown in, even if it was still during the commercials. But you know what? I usually hate people talking during films, and still yesterday I didn't mind it one bit. It was like... you know, the way the whole room was laughing together, it felt like you were part of one whole group of friends. It felt so nice. The fact that I wasn't annoyed did surprise me, though. You see, there is one character that dies. I don't know if it was because I'd been at least smiling all along, and therefore had my defenses completely down, but I really liked how that scene was done. It moved me, and I was definitely teary eyed although also definitely trying to hide it, because, WELL, and suddenly a girl near us started making strange noises. At first I thought she was sobbing or something, but the scene really wasn't that heartwrenching. Then a few others joined in, and I realized that no, they were not crying, but giggling. I haven't got the slightest idea of the reason why, but that didn't annoy me. Not one bit. I joined in, of all things. (I truly am the weakest person on earth when it comes to laughing...) I guess the "tension release" excuse could work here, though, so I'm not worried. :P
I suspect this was mostly pointless talk, instead of a "go to see this movie now!" entry, since I doubt this movie will be exported anywhere. I'm afraid it's too tied to our reality to work properly abroad.
In fact, it would have made more sense to write this entry in Italian.
Whoops.
Switching subjects in so abrupt a manner that it's really worthy of me, the other day I was listening to the radio. A song came up, which I thought was nice and catching, you know, in the nodding-head and beating-hand-to-the-thigh sense. The song ends, and the dj goes "we've just listened to Richey Martin's last single..."
My blood went cold.
I AM CLEARLY GOING INSANE.
This goes with the news that Laura Pausini won a Grammy award, a while ago. I despise her music with a passion, but while watching an interview of hers I found she's actually a fun, nice girl. So I was happy for her. Despite the fact that it was, you know, a prize for her music, which I still loathe, Thank Crunchie, and not her character.
Lookie lookie, the sky is getting lighter and lighter... DOOMED, I tell you. DOOMED. I shall sacrifice to the Mighty Coffee God.
Anyone up for the altar?
P.S.: Am also ready for start on the two projects I am left for the moment. One of which is looong overdue and whose recipient is, like, way TOO kind to me.
