Title: And in the lake there was the Giant Squid
Characters: Blackbeard and Sirius.
Rating: Say a letter?
Notes: For the Giant Squid challenge, over at omniocular. :) To put it short, you chose a number that was connected to (a) a character, (b) a place, (c) etcetcetc and you had to create something that contained both the prompt and the Giant Squid. In my case it was #18, which turned out to be Blackbeard. I had to Wiki him to know who he was, but I'm using the Different Country excuse. ;P

This art will be one of those on sale at Sectus' Art Gallery, starting 20th of July. 40% profit will go to Book Aid International. Other pieces of mine - still on sale - will be The Patronus and Wake Up Boo.




So, I got the prompt and started thinking of what I could do. I was honestly starting to go for the classic "Giant Squid jumps out of lake and scares Blackbeard half to death".

That is, until I remembered the last paragraph of a certain entry.

On the way, as I figured out details while I was working, it started to become something different, though. In other words, what is going on is: Sirius broke his Timeturner, got stuck in the Wrong Place at the Wrong Time. And talked his way out of Trouble by starting chattering about everything and anything - including Giant Squids in Hogwarts lakes, which is what Sirius is miming at the moment. :3

Awwww Sirius is adorable ♥ Wife-beater, tie-as-belt, barefeet... I love him.

and the poor Pirate! His feet seem too small and maybe legs a bit short but his expression is brilliant and his hair is great too :)

I should have (a) started it way earlier and (b) not have losen so much time once I did start it. ;) Damn, this time I hadn't even noticed about the feet (on the arms I flat out gave up :P) - and that's a mistake I do often.

So pretty and funny, and Sirius flailing(?) his arms and the Pirate looking at him with that expression... poor fellow! That's what matters, and you managed quite nicely.

I'd just got back from working at the pub! Dad was on his pc, so the modem was on, and I thought: "Hmmmm." (I don't put together coherent phrases when I'm talking, go figure when I'm thinking. ;P) I went to bed shortly after that! :) (which was still 2:20. And still better than two three days ago, when I was up until 5:00. I hadn't meant to! It's just that I wanted to read a little, I'd left Lost Souls downstairs, The Value of X had just arrived that day... I, er, finished it.)
