Best "twenty minutes in a random shop" of my life: five spent browsing the clothes, the other fifteen staring at the photo of the owner with Ralph Fiennes. That man is so awfully handsome, honestly. More so in that regular, normal picture than in all the glossy magazine ones.

On the other hand, I wonder - the fact that, listening to Cloud Cult's Lucky Today, when the singer goes "someone stole my wallet" I alway half expect it to go "someone stole my bucket" instead - might that mean I've been hanging around icanhascheezburger too often lately?

Oh, and I've got the book, too. Is it just me, or when, on page 16, Voldie tells Bella the phrase that starts with "No higher regard" etc etc etc... he is calling her a whore, isn't he.

And yeah, my first comment on the book is about an innuendo. How are we not surprised.

ETA: Bloody hell NOT AGAIN. You know what? I'm tired. Not deleting anything, not locking anything, not going anywhere. You know, the old jazz.

Voldy/Bella OTP. I'm so glad I was right about that particular relationship.

I haven't got much far yet with the book, for the moment it still looks like it's Bella salivating after him ;)

Without spoiling anything, JKR has said post-book that Voldemort was always Bellatrix's first/only love. Rodolphus was just her way of "making a good pureblood marriage".

"And having sex, because the Dark Lord just would not come to bed with me. And believe me, I TRIED."

...

Sorry, I couldn't resist ;P

Bwahahaha. I wrote at least one story about that. Bella/Voldy is one of those insane pairings I've loved forever.

Maybe the quote would help? Bella's just saying that having Voldemort in their house is an honor, and there's no higher pleasure than that, when:

‘No higher pleasure,’ repeated Voldemort, his head tilted a little to one side as he considered Bellatrix. ‘That means a great deal, Bellatrix, from you.’

She did? I'm not really surprised to hear that ;D

At a coffee shop where I used to live, there was a boy working there who looked a great deal like a young Raplh Fiennes. His shifts always had a lot more female customers sitting about than usual! and I might have been one of them.
;)

I always try to look for innuendo in books -- it makes for an interesting read!

Yergh -- that 'Raplh' should be 'Ralph', as I'm sure you know. Time to type with my glasses on!

Hehehe! Is it worrying when you find them without even trying to look for them, though?

the other fifteen staring at the photo of the owner with Ralph Fiennes

Okay so I totally read this the first time that you and Ralph Fiennes were staring at a picture of the shop owner for fifteen minutes. *headdesk* I was thinking, "Man, if I met Ralph Fiennes in a shop, I would pretty much forget about other people's photos..."

And yeah, I think you can definitely read that Voldy line that way, though since I read the whole book I don't know if I give JKR too much credit for the subtle.

Hahaha! Oh, if only! ;D

She might not have been aiming for subtle at all, maybe? I mean, it was pretty clear she wanted to get in his pants at least since HBP.

Not to put too fine a point on it.

Yeah, well, if I'm known at all it's not because of the porn, is it? ;) I guess it's pretty easy for me to say that, no matter how defiant I may be.

On the other hand, you know, I am getting tired. I like lj, I like that all the people I care for are here, but it's just not possible that this all keeps happening every couple of months. On the other hand, I sure won't move out as long as they keep doing that kind of stuff.

Oh well.

I know what you mean. I'm getting tired of all this mess and going forth and back to three different journals is a bit... unnerving.
I will wait and see what's going on.

Yeah, I definitely thought you were bragging about how you and Ralph Fiennes spent fifteen minutes together staring at some shop owner's photo.

And I was snickering devilishly when I read that line. (My enjoyment lasted a few seconds, until I read that other line - you know the one - at which point I adopted an expression of utmost disgust and shouted, 'Oh, gross! She's fourteen years younger than he is! And she's a girl!')
