BIG FAT SPOILERS for the Dark Tower, Book 7. If you haven't read it, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT CLICKING.

(No, seriously. It will spoil the series BIG TIME.)

(I meant that!)

(Also, I should put in a warning for an "attack of the capslock", I guess.)

Yesterday I said, and I quote:

3. one famous person to fight alongside you.
Roland Deschain. Or maybe NOT, considering how many of those who fought alongside him kind of DIED.

...I should clearly KEEP MY BIG MOUTH SHUT. (Or my fingers still. Eeee, whatever.) Guess to which part I got, about a couple hour later?

EDDIE.

And JAKE!

...good grief, this book is worse than a Clamp!manga's ending.

(More notes on the subject will come with the final "recapping" entry, but I had to say something. ;P)

UWAAAAAAH! *flings self on you for SO MANY HUGS* Dude, I know. I KNOW, OKAY? I was actually spoiled for Jake's death a LOOOOOONG time before I got to the last book, and I kind of more or less suspected the untimely death of Eddie Dean ("but before he could they were parted BY DEEEAAAAATH!" Thanks, sai King.) but OH MAN, IT STILL HURT SO BAD WHEN I GOT THERE. Sad Roland without his Jake is basically the worst most tragic thing ever. I hurt SO BAD Through that whole part of the book, ugh. *hugs* COMMENCE FLAILING. WE SHALL FLAIL TOGETHER, DEAR.

OH KAAAAAAAAT! D: *BAWLS EYES OUT* Seriously. I was a MESS when I got through Eddie :(( but I was kind of fearing it? Probably just because he was the one I wanted to die the less, though. :( and Jake, HELLO, DID NOT FORESEE THAT. I was mostly walking around or in public when I got there, so I couldn't really start crying where I was, but I kind of wanted to ;P

For instance, at the prayer Roland said over Jake's grave. Oh, there I almost lost it.

("but before he could they were parted BY DEEEAAAAATH!" Thanks, sai King.)
Hehehehehe! I texted Jou right after I got to that part ;D But the grouphug before was a thing of beauty, wasn't it? :D

AND OH MAN, I AM EVER SO GRATEFUL YOU AND JOU ARE HERE. D:

Yeah... devastated me. I hated how everyone died in the last book...

Then, I kinda got annoyed with the last book.

OH BRUNI. I KNOW. ;;;^;;; Losing Jake so soon after Eddie was just... oh gosh, it was about to break my heart. Like Kat said, sad Roland is SAAAAAD.

...Honestly? I sort of loved it, though. I was talking to Kat about this, and it's pretty true that I like angst more than the average person, and I think I think Jake and Eddie at least got two of the most poignant and touching death scenes that I've ever read. <3

But yeah, both of them in such rapid succession really floored me! D: I guess I'd known to expect some character death, but strangely I hadn't worked too hard to predict who it might be. Both so soon really surprised me. ;O; Jake's was especially hard, because I wasn't even done mourning Eddie, and I'm like, omg. The world is BLEEEAAAAAAK.

In fact, the one DT fic I've written so far is about the deaths of Jake and Eddie, because I was so very struck by both of them. /._.\ Life without Jake and Eddie was just.... too strange!

HI, I HAVE BEEN SAVING UP HUGS FOR YOU, JUST FOR WHEN YOU GOT TO THIS PART.

*covers eyes with hand* Do not go further! I forgot to say so in the entry, but I haven't finished the book yet ;D Though I suspect it may happen today. :P

You know, so far I'm not annoyed with it in the slightest. It hurt and it hurt bad, no doubt about it, but I kind of loved it at the same time. Granted, I've still got a few pages left, so who knows, but so far? I'm really loving it. :)

OH JOU. THANK YOU FOR HOLDING MY HAND. T_T

I can't quote the exact passage the other sketch was about, but it's the moment when Jake is outside with Oy, waiting for Roland to call him back in for Eddie's last moments. Oh man, Eddie's last moments. Not just his last words, but all the in-between - that got me hard. :o

JAKE. I had my hand over my face during the whole passage (and, ha ha, found myself being VERY VERY CAREFUL when driving myself, after that O_o), kept hoping against hope, but my first reaction after Roland realizing how bad things were was of a kind of anger. :D I really went WTF?, stopped there and went to take a shower - I really couldn't take both the same day. ..except I picked it up again once the shower was done. ;P

...Honestly? I sort of loved it, though.
*laughs* I had the same reaction! :D So much so that I got emotional and started thanking people (i.e., YOU) for getting me in the series at all. *g*

CAN I SAY AGAIN HOW I LOVE THAT YOU'RE HERE? BECAUSE, HELLO, I DO. AND I AM SO GOING TO READ THAT FIC ONCE I'M DONE WITH THE SERIES.

OH! I gave no details! None!!! I was just frustrated... I loved the first three books and the last three just didn't feel as ... I don't know... as close to my heart. I do like King's older stuff better, maybe that is why.

And Eddie. Can I tell you how much I loved Eddie?

Most people I know loved it. My sister thought it was the bee's knees. I'm in my own little camp.

But do love it! Enjoy it. Draw more pictures. *grins*

Goodness, goodness, I didn't know anyone else who had read DT at the time I was reading book 7, so when I got to the character the sad Jake and Eddie bits, I called one of my best friends who I supposed would never read the books and just flailed at her, even though she knew nothing about the series.

"LIEK OMG LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THESE BOOKS YOU'RE NEVER GOING TO READ."

...She is very tolerant of me. Heh.

AUGH and I know which part you're talking about about, with the sketch. Just to have context, I went back and reread the inbetween bits with Jake. Jake, who is only 12 years old and recently taken up smoking. Oh. <3 My poor honey.

I finished the book last Thursday - and I'm sorry, I'm another one of those who loved it ;D

Oh, Eddie. I loved him so much. <3333 It was such a beautiful and unexpected suprise to see him again!

And hehe, there are going to be more pictures! ;D

...and she went to pick up the books herself the next day? Because IT WOULD SO MAKE SENSE. <33333

I haven't relistened to it since... and I'm almost afraid to. I cried way way too much at that! D:
