You know, I had resigned myself to go and see Brokeback Mountain on my own. (Which would have been a first, come to think of it.) Still, Friday night I broached the "cinema subject", more for a scruple than anything else - and as soon as Emiliano said "I'd like to see that other film, too, Brok--" "LET'S GO LET'S GO LET'S GO!", I, er, answered. And it ended up being only me and him, since our friends clearly can't recognize a good thing when they see one. :P
Anyway, I had lots of fun. Emiliano (who's completely straight) liked it, too, even if... oh, how I laughed at his face when we were talking about the first sex scene! (By the way, ouch. That must have hurt.) (At first.) Really, you should have seen him. He said he was so uncomfortable that, had the scene lasted a couple of seconds more, he probably would have got up. Really, you should have been there. I didn't pinch his cheek, but it was a close call. :P
Bruni the Mood-Killer did make a few appearances. Like, when Alma sees the boys kissing. That wasn't my fault, though! It's just that this woman two seats away from me started cackling like a maniac, andandand how was I supposed to resist that? Well, all right, I found it funny too.1 And-- you know the "Daddy daddy will you bring me back a bigbigbig fish" scene? Someone in the cinema cracked a joke at that, a rather rude one, and the whole hall burst out laughing (us included). Mostly because it broke the tension, I think, but... oh, priceless. We were still laughing about it in the car, afterwards.
Ok, I think I'll go and look for some BM icons, now. :D Well, one. I've got only one slot left. :P
Also, I saw the trailer for Jarhead, and that has all the making of a movie I could love.
______
1: I have a strange conception of "funny". I remembered this when I saw the trailer for Pride and Prejudice. I read the book eons ago, and when I reached Darcy's first confession, when I read "omgplizmarryme" (however that was phrased, I don't remember), I started laughing so HARD I had to hold my belly. I swear.
I adored the book, anyway, and I'm probably going to see the movie.

on 2006-02-06 10:26 am (UTC)Argh, I really don't know how to translate it - it was sort of like:
Ennis' daughter: "Daddydaddydaddy bring me bigbigbig fish!!1!1!!"
Anonymous Man in The Dark: "Yeah. He'll bring you a big tool, sure he will."
(tool isn't really it, but I don't know how to phrase it...)
AND there was a lot of topless Jake.
Which I definitely wouldn't mind. Because, er, I did not stare at him at all. Er. Did not. Right.
Morning, darling. :D
