[ART] - The Patronus
Mar. 3rd, 2006 11:24 amTitle: The Patronus
Character(s): Remus Lupin
Rating: G
Notes: My contribution to
hp_art_project. I know that it has a room for improvement as wide as the Pacific Ocean, but I honestly couldn't work any longer on it without either (a) getting accidental holes in the paper, or (b) getting a big deliberate one in the middle. Possibly with the aid of a lighter. Also, I owe a lot of thanks and gratitude to
twinkly and
marukka in particular, and to
artbeta in general. :D Heartily recommended, that community.
(never has the smiling icon been more ironic, by the by.)
This art will be one of those on sale at Sectus' Art Gallery, starting 20th of July. 40% profit will go to Book Aid International. Other pieces of mine - still on sale - will be Wake Up Boo and And in the lake there was the Giant Squid.
Here, there is a working version - just to show how much stupid I've been to work so long on the wall, since it ended up being that covered. :P

'Professor Lupin?' he said. 'If you knew my dad, you must've known Sirius Black as well.'
Lupin turned very quickly.
'What gives you that idea?' he said sharply.

on 2006-03-03 10:57 am (UTC)My dear, maybe it doesn't look like what you had in mind, but as I don't know that, I absolutely LOVE it!
Really, there's dramatic tension and a gorgeous lighting and wonderful movement and all in all it's a perfect illustration for this moment in the story. What more would you like?
This is WONDERFUL.
♥♥♥
Also, dammit I still didn't begin mine, argh. When was it due?

on 2006-03-03 01:42 pm (UTC)This is so intense, so powerful... and it really looks like he's moving. I love the shading, I love the wall, the book, his hands, and most of all I love his face. It's so beautiful and expressive. I love him.
and I LOVE YOU!
I finally posted a little about Melody, it took me many months, right?

(Even though I don't think there's anything bad about it - the light and dark shading is lovely.) *g*
