Title: The Patronus
Character(s): Remus Lupin
Rating: G
Notes: My contribution to [livejournal.com profile] hp_art_project. I know that it has a room for improvement as wide as the Pacific Ocean, but I honestly couldn't work any longer on it without either (a) getting accidental holes in the paper, or (b) getting a big deliberate one in the middle. Possibly with the aid of a lighter. Also, I owe a lot of thanks and gratitude to [livejournal.com profile] twinkly and [livejournal.com profile] marukka in particular, and to [livejournal.com profile] artbeta in general. :D Heartily recommended, that community.

(never has the smiling icon been more ironic, by the by.)

'Professor Lupin?' he said. 'If you knew my dad, you must've known Sirius Black as well.'
Lupin turned very quickly.
'What gives you that idea?' he said sharply.

This art will be one of those on sale at Sectus' Art Gallery, starting 20th of July. 40% profit will go to Book Aid International. Other pieces of mine - still on sale - will be Wake Up Boo and And in the lake there was the Giant Squid.

Here, there is a working version - just to show how much stupid I've been to work so long on the wall, since it ended up being that covered. :P

You don't like it?

My dear, maybe it doesn't look like what you had in mind, but as I don't know that, I absolutely LOVE it!

Really, there's dramatic tension and a gorgeous lighting and wonderful movement and all in all it's a perfect illustration for this moment in the story. What more would you like?

This is WONDERFUL.

♥♥♥

Also, dammit I still didn't begin mine, argh. When was it due?

It's more a case of hating it, rather than liking or not, I think... we've fought so long and hard that I just can't stand it anymore.

And, well. Reading what you think of it, I'm not hyperventilating, but close. You have no idea how relieved and just sheerly GLAD you make me.

Oh, Bruni, that's amazing. It's just gorgeous. The hand holding the wand is absolutely perfect, and his other hand came out SO WELL. Your shading is just amazing. The definition, the light, just...WOW. Wow. You're spectacular. :D I absolutely love this. It's just STUNNING. You have, once again, totally outdone yourself!

Wow. I always wonder how you are going to translate your beautiful young man in love Remus into the sad, prematurely-gray Professor Lupin in canon. This is incredible. You can see that beautiful young man inside this haunted adult. Plus all the technical stuff that everyone has below--goes double for me since I can't identify how your art is acting on my psyche quite as well.

Oh dear! O_o What the hell are you talking about, Bruni? You know I already liked this in a lot earlier stage, but this final version is so gorgeous.

This is so intense, so powerful... and it really looks like he's moving. I love the shading, I love the wall, the book, his hands, and most of all I love his face. It's so beautiful and expressive. I love him.

and I LOVE YOU!

I finally posted a little about Melody, it took me many months, right?

I still don't like it. My inexperience shows in every single inch of it - and in each one of the thousand wrong things with it. ^^; But the trick is not watching it at all when you're replying to reviews. ;P

People are clearly out of their rocker, though... *is scared*

Think I got here via [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_today, and this is beautiful. Mmmm. I am going to ogle him all day now. I love the expression on his face, the feeling of movement and urgency in the picture. I love his grip on the wand, and his eyes...

Mmmm.

I really love your style.

I think it's gorgeous! I love the details - the flow of the robes, his neck and jaw and chin, his hand on the book, the way his other hand is gripping his wand like that (I love hands! and feet, but no feet in this one! *g*) And I love the expression on his face!

Screw the wall!
(Even though I don't think there's anything bad about it - the light and dark shading is lovely.) *g*

O. Wow. *is in complete awe* One of the best interpretations of Remus I have ever seen. I love how his eyes really seem to pop out of the rest of the drawing; you pack all this life into those two little things, it is amazing.

I'm sorry that you're so frustrated with it, but I think it's lovely. I love your conception of how he looks, and I really think you captured the emotion. And the book. The book with his hand and the wand… They give me squee. What do you think of iconing?

What I think? Very flattered and happy thoughts, actually. :D If you get around to do it, show it to me? I'd be very very curious! :D

Other than that, thank you so much. I'm still so not happy with many parts of it, but I'm so, so glad that it seems it came out as effective. :D
