on 2007-07-15 10:08 pm (UTC)"Sirius, are you almost ready?" he can hear Remus from down below, probably at the foot of the stairs, glaring up, tapping his foot, his arms crossed, and everything about him looking impeccable as always except that there will be one button, come undone accidentally, that will send him into a nervous frenzy as soon as Sirius will tell him, because, Sirius, what if more buttons come undone accidentally?? and so he won't tell him at all.
He'll notice at the end of the evening and then complain about Sirius not having said anything and Sirius will smile to himself.
"Yes, I'm practically on my way, you tyrant, you," he shouts at first, his words then turning to murmurs, and a smile plays at his lips as he looks at his reflection one last time, trying to decide whether the tie looks decent enough already, and experimentally tugging on it, somewhat.
"Sirius!" he hears again, and grins, grabbing his coat and rushing out the door and down the stairs, and nearly running into poor Remus, with his button-woes. "Sirius!" that one says again, brushing off his coat, looking rather harried - Sirius loves it when he gets that particular look to him; it makes him want to kiss him and see how many more cute, slightly annoyed facial expressions he can bring out of him - and Sirius shrugs. "Told you I didn't have a stitch to wear. I guess we'll just have to stay in and not go out tonight."
Remus harumphs like he always does when he wants to be irritated but can't help smile at Sirius and his antics. It means, in Sirius' terms, victory.
"You're charming enough to make up for it," Remus finally says after a moment of stalemate, and kisses him on his cheek despite himself, grabbing his arm and dragging him out the door.
Sirius does not mind at all.
