I keep going back to it, I know, but there are random things I liked/found funny about Deathly Hallows that I remember every now and then.

One is how Stan ended up being a DE. That lives in the "I found funny" area. Especially when I went back with my mind to the Great Confrontation, in HBP, between Harry and the Minister Of Magic Whose Name I Forget But Definitely Isn't Slughorn.

Another - which still falls under the "I found funny" category - is the mention, at the beginning of the book, of what Sirius' Infamous Bike actually looked like.

Reading that it was one of those sidecar deals?

I SO had this mental image.

was that in the book that the sidecar was added? because i have refused to believe that Sirius would have a sidecar on his baby. i guess i didn't read some parts closely enough but it would make me very happy if i knew for sure. :D

It wasn't explicitly stated, no, but back in book one, when Hagrid brings Harry to the Dursleys, there's no sidecar.

Hagrid says to Harry:

"An’ you’re with me, Harry. That all righ’?" said Hagrid, looking a little anxious. "We’ll be on the bike, brooms an’ thestrals can’t take me weight, see. Not a lot o’ room on the seat with me on it, though, so you’ll be in the sidecar."

.... "Arthur’s done a bit o’ tinkerin’," said Hagrid, quite oblivious to Harry’s discomfort.

The latter refers to the spells and stuff he added, but I can't help but believe he added the sidecar too, because they knew 17 year old Harry wouldn't fit on the bike seat with Hagrid, especially with Hedwig's cage and broom and his rucksack to carry. It's a pretty logical conclusion, at least to me. :-P

oh, it's very logical to me as well! ;) see, i didn't think there was a sidecar in book one and i know i went back to read the part where Hagrid first appeared on it to check the description. it didn't say anything about a sidecar but it also didn't get overly specific so i wasn't sure.

i'll just take the fact that you also say the sidecar wasn't there as my irrefutable proof that it was a horrid addition that Sirius would not approve of. *nods*
