Oooookay. 'M going to take a leaf out of [livejournal.com profile] spacedye_vest's book and post some fic recs.

(Well - I did spend a week, some time ago, trying to read all the stories I had archived in my "New" folder. I didn't manage it, not yet at least, but since they were over 480 and now they reached the honorable number of 200-or-so, I guess I can slow down a little. ^^")

So! You probably already know some of them. Maybe all of them. In that case, don't pay it too much attention. =P Oh, I'm not listing the FQF stories.. even if I have things to say about them. I still have to read all the stories published after A Black in Wolf's Clothing. (which I loved, by the way.)

[livejournal.com profile] julianelupin's Scary Monsters... And Super Creeps. Do I have to add anything? No, I think not.

He's Not Heavy, He's My Boggart, by [livejournal.com profile] mousapelli. Hilarious. Just hilarious. Remus' boggart is.. is.. as I said, hilarious. (still have to read the second part, though.. I had only saved the first, not having noticed there was a second. It's just so damned annoying, when something like this happens.)

Why didn't I ever read anything by [livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka? I really liked her Fall on Me. One of the few non-slash fics with the puppies, where Remus and Sirius actually act like Remus and Sirius. (And if I ever had any doubt about my lack of reviewing skill, now I don't anymore. =P)

I don't know why I didn't write it first, but I just adore Lise's (and kel's) writing. After having read her "major" works, I finally realized that I just had to read all the other stories, and this is how I stumbled onto how to disappear (READ IT!), enemy, magic stationwagon, blindfold, unexpected. No, I'm not mentioning all the fics archived in her site. No, I didn't!

Another one that had me howling with laughter was Earl Grey, Hot ([livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka's again. I hope you realized by now that I am not following any order in mentioning these stories.)

If someone of you read What You Need... do you think, too, that it follows more or less the same pattern as Magic Words and Levity? I think I enjoyed this story for the same reason I enjoyed the other two, at least.

Oh, check also [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge's The Cartographer's Craft. It's interesting.

Well.. no, that actually shouldn't be all, because (a) there are other fic I'd like to quote, but talking about them without having a link seems quite pointless, and (b) what I hate about reading something like 300 stories in a row is that it's hard for me to remember all the ones I wanted to talk about. But I promise I'll be diligent and watch more thoroughly in my "read" folder. (yeah, I have folders like these. I also have an "Updates" one. Well, I actually have all the fics I read saved and archived by the site they were in.)

But reading a high number of fics brings also other drawback. And, in fact, I didn't notice that I got so picky. For instance, WHY, oh WHY do they keep writing NC17 fics with Tonks as Sirius? WHY? It was already hideous the first I read one, but BY GOD, I thought that after a YEAR people would get over stupid ideas like this one.

GAH.

Sorry if I overreacted, but REALLY, this one of the things I can't stand, because Remus (at least as I see him) not only would have never agreed to that, but he would even been offended and mortified at the request, let alone ASKING for it. And I don't see Tonks offering either, for that matter.

I don't want to listen anymore to The Cure's last song. I happened to when I was rereading Lise and Kel's "The Second Coming", and the image of Robert Smith, as he is now, standing behind a bed with a dead owl on it, with a sock in his hand, glued to my head. That's not a very pretty image.

Besides, Remus would rather she pretend to be Gary Oldman anyways. XD;
