So, the Mask of Apollo.
I've read this book (and quite a while ago, to be honest) and, you know?, I liked it. Hehe, I have to thank![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
jadis31 once more, it seems. Actually she told me about The Last of the Wine (which I've yet to find - but I've hope) yet maybe it has been better to start with this book instead. I positively loved both Greek Tragedy and Phylosophy at Secondary School (or whathever the equivalent is), so most of the references didn't come out of the blue.. and I kept having the impression I was reading a version, as if the text was translated by Ancient Greek. How strange.
But the strangest thing of all is that, as soon as I finished reading, I went upstairs to search my old Greek and Phylosophy notes and textbooks.. and I can very well imagine what my professors would have been like, had they seen me. Probably the Greek teacher would have cried with joy.. but I'm sure the Philosophy one would have laughed her head off. (Hehe, I adored that woman.) Well, I wasn't exactly known as the most studious person of the class..
Tee hee hee.. my mother, seeing me so engrossed in that book, first asked me what it was about and then told me she wanted to read it too. I know her, so I also know that - good intentions notwithstanding - in the end she won't.. and it's a shame, I'd have loved to see her reactions to some parts. *grin*
