Am unimpressed.
Maybe it was because I haven't read the book; the book is probably better, more detailed (and diluted) than the movie, but god. Every five minutes it was a "oh look! There is a very underscored but apparently meaningless detail! Might it be a clue?"
And nevermind the Heir. I mean. Sir Leigh is all "women women women women let's find the Heir." And oh look, Sophie is the only woman in the whole movie.
*gasp* Whoever might be the Heir?

on 2006-06-08 05:54 pm (UTC)Tell you what, that was one point where I sit up in my chair - you know the moment when you think that Sir Leigh was actually a real member of the Opus Dei? That was surprising.
Until you realized that no, he'd been on "*insert right title* of Sion"'s side all along, and I sagged back on the chair.
Hm. It wasn't a Bad movie, per se, just... a very average one. Nothing special.
