Have seen The Da Vinci Code.

Am unimpressed.



Maybe it was because I haven't read the book; the book is probably better, more detailed (and diluted) than the movie, but god. Every five minutes it was a "oh look! There is a very underscored but apparently meaningless detail! Might it be a clue?"

And nevermind the Heir. I mean. Sir Leigh is all "women women women women let's find the Heir." And oh look, Sophie is the only woman in the whole movie.

*gasp* Whoever might be the Heir?

Well, I'm afraid the book is... um, worse.

For example: they have to guess a word, six letters, with SUCH AN OBVIOUS DESCRIPTION, and an university professor wastes 40 pages (or more) thinking it over, when your first guess is the good one?

Pleeeeeeease.


It's a book that pretends to make the reader feel intelligent, but it only ends making you feel that the author is pretty stupid, I'm afraid.

And the worst is that at first it looked like something I might have really enjoyed. I mean... cryptography is my address at university. I remember talking (briefly) about the cryptex, during one lesson, just to make an example. And then... mah.

Tell you what, that was one point where I sit up in my chair - you know the moment when you think that Sir Leigh was actually a real member of the Opus Dei? That was surprising.

Until you realized that no, he'd been on "*insert right title* of Sion"'s side all along, and I sagged back on the chair.

Hm. It wasn't a Bad movie, per se, just... a very average one. Nothing special.

Io ho letto il libro e mi è sembrato fin troppo diluito. E pedante. Mi dava troppo sui nervi quando si metteva a spiegare ogni singolo termine artistico.

É un libro scritto in modo molto furbo, con capitoli abbastanza brevi e dei punti in sospeso alla fine di ogni capitolo in modo da invogliarti a leggere quello successivo, ma niente di eccezionale. Una grande montatura mediatica.

Probabilmente sarò l'unica fra i tuoi commenti a dire che il libro mi è piaciuto parecchio, ma è così XD
Sono andata a vedere il film apposta per quello (e per Paul Bettany, ovviamente - amo sia lui che Silas), e l'ho trovato molto frettoloso rispetto al libro, senonché la fine, anzi, gli ultimi 5 minuti a parte la scena finale, sono una ca**ta di divine proporzioni, niente a che vedere con quella del libro e infatti volevo picchiare il regista ma soprattutto Tom Hanks che mi sta molto sulle palle.
A parte questo c'è da dire che il Codice Da Vinci va preso per quel che è, una storiella con un'idea curiosa che può catturare la tua attenzione per la sua completa assurdità.
Ma c'è Silas, quindi merita di esser letto, e con questo ho detto tutto.
P.S.: Che cosa hai fatto durante la scena della fustigazione, hai sbavato o sei rabbrividita di dolore empatico? XD

Sul libro ovviamente non posso dire niente... ne ho letto solo le prima 5 pagine. ^^;

Silas... mi è saputo un po' macchietta nel film, sai? Anche la backstory, per come era presentata, aveva un che di trito e ritrito... ^^; Paul Bettany, invece, era uno dei motivi per cui mi sono lasciata convincere ad andare al cinema. ;P (A parte la curiosità, perché non avevo neanche una grossa idea di che trattasse...XD;) Cosa ho fatto? Ho sperato che la telecamera scendesse un po' più giù. XD M'ha fatto un po' schifo la scena del silicio, però.

Sì, infatti! Come film non era chissà che schifo, ma... un filmetto. Niente di che. Per questo ci sono rimasta male. :P

E' un po' come con le BadFics, Piu' e' brutta e/o assurda, e piu' ti viene voglia di farti due risate. :D

Ma ho paura che questo piu' che altro mi annoierebbe...

I haven't seen the film, but it can't be any worse than the dreadful book. At least the film will have pretty things to look at! Sorry it was disappointing!

Arrivo in ritardissimo a dire la mia,ma tant'è...
Del Codice ho già parlato nel mio lj,e non mi dilungherò.Devo dire che il libro mi era piaciuto di più,forse perché tutto il clamore mediatico mi aveva preso...Anche se le teorie che sosteneva le avevo sentite non so per quanti anni dalla mia prof d'inglese.
Il film,a parte Bettany,non mi è piaciuto,in parte anche per il lavoro di doppiaggio fatto,quello schifo di accento simil francese alla Closeau,e parti in lingua.Ha seguito fedelmente il libro,per carità,ma hanno tolto gran parte del mistero (ne erano 2 di criptex!) e del finale.
