I really did want to say llama. Just because, well, it's funny.
I really don't have any set ideas about their lovelife, in all honesty. It makes it easier for me to accept and enjoy fanfiction that way, where anything goes, as long as it's well written.

That's not Remus--that's James. ;D And, you know, most every other bloke. Sirius could turn the straightest of men.

They probably saw other people at least casually, but I don't think it's that unlikely that they were each other's first serious relationship. They're both pretty dysfunctional and the Marauders were an awfully tight-knit group and there was a war on when they left school, so I can see a lot of reasons why they both would have found it difficult to form proper relationships with anyone else.

Hmm, I probably didn't phrase it all that correctly :) It's just that in so many cases it's their first relationship, period. (Whoops, I hadn't thought at all of all the slut!Sirius fics... but in that case it's not having relationships, more like using tissues to blow your nose.)

You know what I think? That this might possibly be more fanon than canon. I mean... in how many stories the Marauders interact with people different from the Usual Suspects? *blinks*

Actually I think fandom underestimates quite how loopy they both are. Remus says he never had friends before he came to Hogwarts which, considering he was eleven by then is bound to have screwed up his emotional development. And Sirius is practically a poster boy for mental instability in teens--apparent history of mental illness in the family, teen runaway, pattern of anti-social/criminal behaviour, and possibly a survivor of domestic abuse. I don't think they're nuts or anything, but neither of them seem to be particularly emotionally stable.

I didn't have any friends until seventh grade, which it actually twelve/thirteen. I doubt you guys want to hear how my emotional development got screwed up by that. Not that I'm crazy. I'm not. *shifty eyes*

Glad to know I'm not alone in thinking that Sirius is gay. I was tempted to pick llama and ticky box though just because it amused me. As for dating other people, another poster pretty much said it for me, tight-knit group, disfunctional people, etc.

I've had long and infuriating arguments with people who have told me, with no apparent sense of irony, that Sirius is 'too hot' to be gay. I've also met a lot of people who say that Sirius must be bisexual/promiscuous (and, clearly, the two are inseperable) because he's good looking.

I tend to use Sirius' complete and utter lack of interest in girls as the basis for my ideas about his sexuality, but perhaps I'm just strange like that.

As do I. I find that to be faulty logic. I also find it rather offensive since I'm male that just because someone is good looking they are either a)straight or b)bisexual/promiscuous (since they're inseperable). My girlfriend can attest to my good looks and I can attest to my lack of promiscuous behavior.

But..we so aren't talking about me. ^^;; I do use Sirius' lack of interest in the girl that was making googly eyes at him in OotP as a basis for my idea as well. You're not that strange.

I think Remus is bi in the sense that he really doesn't have the option of being picky if he doesn't want to be alone.. But he'd prefer the menfolks. And by menfolks, I mean Sirius. ;D But Sirius is gayer than a treefull of monkies on nitrous oxide!

And as for other people, I used to really think that they wouldn't have hooked up when they were younger so other people would have been possible, because I didn't want to think they could be in love and then do such stupid things to each other. You know, maybe they really did have a thing for each other, but never did anything about it until post-Azkaban? Though I've read so many damn fanfics it's made me think it could have been possible? *will quite rambling now* XD;
