Wohoo! Been useless to the world at large for all of yesterday and all of today! Well, almost. Close enough, anyway. Yeeeah, it's those few days each month that make you contemplate the downside to being female. I'm sure several of you can relate. (Those of you who have painless periods? I don't want to talk to you just now. ;P) Woah, I hadn't had one this bad in months! Spent the vast majority of the days cuddled on the couch and watching Sex & the city reruns.
Well, at least I seem to be all right now - and just in time for Monday! How lucky I am. ;P
Anyway, it's time for some Dark Tower prattle now! I really haven't talked about it on here since the Drawing of the Three, have I? :O Well, I'm still loving it. ♥ With W&G I've been trying to pace myself, though. You know that "throwing self on audiobooks as if starved" thing? Wasn't working too well with The Wastelands already, I was fairly out of breath by the end of it. Still, LOVED it. ...even though if I heard "See you later, alligator" one more time I would have probably kind of screamed, but. ;P
Loved loved loved the bit with Eddie frying the train's brain. (...oh shut up.) I was getting ready to go out as I was hearing that, and people were waiting for me, and I just couldn't stop trying to find more things to do just to have an excuse to linger some more, and get to hear the end of the scene. ♥ In the end I had to drop it halfway through, but. It made coming back home that night all the sweeter. ;P
AND AND AND - still in W&G - when Eddie & Suze embrace again Jake & Roland? Could that scene be any more delicious? I was either drawing or writing at that point, because I'm sure I dropped everything I was doing just to awww in delight. Clasped hands and all.
(Which reminds me, when they're crossing the bridge to Lud and Eddie is suffering? The bit about if he needed something to look at, make it long tall and ugly, and then he looks at Roland? Oh how I loved him there. ♥)
Which, I suppose, makes it no surprise that I'm LOVING Cuthbert. Oh, that boy. <3 Annnnd after the scene at the Traveler's Rest - you know, the one with Roland having the drop on Jonas who had the drop on Alain who had the drop on Reynolds who had the drop on Cuthbert who had the drop on Depape... - when Alain slips the knife against Reynolds' throat? HAHA, SLASH ALERT. ...with Cuthbert, not with Reynolds.
jou has already promised to point me to some good fanfics once I'm finished with my homework the book! ♥
And... I had no idea whether Susan would be a character I'd like or not, honestly, before the flashback begun. But aw. At the point I am? Roland and Susan? Are pretty and sweet and cuddly like a couple of puppies. ♥♥♥
(It also break my heart knowing already that they are all going to die ._. DON'T WANT! But still. Aw.)
Also, new comic :P Actually, I did this when I was still at Do3. And I blame it on TOO MUCH PRATCHETT. (Except there's no such thing as "too much Pratchett". I miss my Discworld fix! <3 ) Because, you know, before him I'd never heard the expression - and now I can't hear the first half without thinking of the second.
(Drawing of the Three - Jake is in the Haunted House, trying to get back, but his key falls from his hand. The phrase in the last balloon? No, he never actually says that.)

...this is sad and unfunny and it still cracks me up each time I think of that line. Just like when the narrator does the "previously on this screen" recap at the beginning of each audiobook, and when he gets to Jake falling down saying "there are other worlds than theeeeese!" I imagine him saying "you bastaaaaard!", with the same tone, and I start gigglesnorting.
I AM SO SAD.
Oh! Of all the things I never should have found... <3 I think I'll start playing there and see if it is fun. ;P
