(Also - I'm getting kind of tired of ICanHas, mostly because most caps now tend to look all the same and not really funny, but when I stumbled on this cap this morning I had my first autentic (ICHC) laugh in quite a while. *g* (and this one SO reminded me of Monkey Island 1.) )


...this is a weird entry, I know it is, but. Er. Would you happen to have a good recipe for french toast? And/or pancakes? It's just... I'm curious to make them, and I know I'd probably found a thousand recipes around, but... I don't know, I tend to be instictively wary of those. :P So, anyone with a trusted recipe to share? ♥

I just always throw everything in a bowl until it looks right.... Er. Sloppy cooking!

French toast.
Mix in a bowl: 2 eggs, enough milk for the amount of bread you're using (should turn a light yellow colour when whisked together). Add cinnamon if you like (but not if you're eating it savoury!).
Cut: the bread you are using into good-sized pieces if necessary (if you want soggier French Toast, use plain bread; for crunchier, toast it first)
Put: bread in milk and egg mixture, let soak.
Melt butter or add oil to a frying pan, or not if it is Teflon: fry to a good brown colour on both sides.
Eat, with ketchup if you prefer savoury, syrup or jam if prefer sweet.

Pancakes:
Whisk: 1 egg until frothy and bubbly.
Add: about a cup of flour, pinch salt, teaspoon sugar, 3 teaspoons baking powder, and some milk to whisked egg.
Mix: only until everything is mixed in (if you over-mix, the gluten in the flour activates and you get tough pancakes). If it's too thick, add more milk; if too thin, add more flour.
Melt butter or add oil to a frying pan, or not if it is Teflon: spoon batter into pan, flip pancakes when bubbles rise to the top. Cook til a good brown colour on both sides.
Eat with syrup.

And I have no solid recipe for french toast! Usually I start with the basic eggs/milk/vanilla and then I start throwing in random things like cinnamon and clove powder. (I love nothing more than clove and would put it in ANYTHING I make. XDD)

Though you realize whatever you end up making, YOU REALLY SHOULD SHARE IT WITH A SPECIAL SOMEONE WINK WINK KNUDGE KNUDGE.
