Title: Scenes From A Memory
Rating: ...PG for (some) nudity, and therefore not really worksafe, but otoh not much action either. Yet.
Characters: Mr Sirius Black, Esq.
Notes, part the first: MINX HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Notes, part the second: This is a fanfic illustration; but you won't find this scene in any of our adored Minx's stories.

Anyone who has read her wonderful Train in Vain (first story of hers I've ever read, by the by) will probably know what I mean. :D

Well, let me wish you all the best for every day of these holidays. :) I'm really sorry I have to make this quick; I'm really sorry I didn't post before, actually, but it seems like the new name for Insanity is Good Holiday Cheer.

I really really love you. :D
Title: The Very Best
Rating: Another G at the end of a very long line.
Notes: This is not very refined, I'm really sorry about that, but I haven't had the time to do a real pic. Still, I couldn't let it go. I understood that - that I couldn't, I mean - even before I had finished reading Minx's ficlet, which is where this comes from. In a way, this could be a sort of 'goodbye' to one of my favorite series ever. (In the hope that, rather than a 'goodbye', it will turn into a 'see you soon'.) (Hope is the last one to die, after all, isn't it? ;) )

Notes 2: The Lost Feeling series. You know, just in case you've never read it.

Notes 3: Why readind Minx is a good idea. Sorry, I'll shut up now.

Really, I'm having troubles considering this a suggestion. Mostly because I'm having troubles thinking of someone (well, who is a S/R shipper) that hasn't read not even one of Minx ([livejournal.com profile] miraminx)'s stories. Heh, she could be considered like one of the ship's classics, I think.

Jokings aside, Minx's style is clean and dry: she's the proof that to give intensity to a story, there is no need to use redundant expressions, or flowery and generally excessive adjectivation. In few words, "just show, don't tell" (or something). So, when the stories get under your skin, you almost don't notice - and when you do, of course, it's Too Late. (My fingers are itching to make a Book Reference, here. A big huge kiss to those who know what I'm referring to.)

And... well, she writes about people. She gives to every character a personality, and not slight variations of the same one. (I don't know you, but I haven't seen it that often.) Which is probably why, or at least one of the reasons why she can tell stories from the point of view of other characters (Lily, Tonks, James... or a motorbike. Let us not forget the motorbike.) and render them so believable.

It's not much longer, I promise. )

Why are you still here? Go to read! Or reread, whatever. Go!

ETA: I'm stupid, and I haven't thought of mentioning Spellbound: a truly hilarious story. The summary says: "Snape and Harry have to have sex in order to complete a spell to Defeat Evil and Make the World a Shiny Happy Place Again. There’s just one little problem..." There are so many punchlines in there that I don't know which one to quote. In many ways, it's also a delightful parody of OotP. :D

I also added the link to Start Me Up. :D
