Jou

Title: Diablo Rojo
Rating: G
Fandom: hahahaha. :D Surprise!
Notes: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOU :O Also, if you don't recognize him I'm probably going to cry. (Okay, not really.)

So I tried doing (two) Hambert(s) - which, for the record, is a character of [livejournal.com profile] jou's - aaaand I hope I got him right. :o I mostly based myself on the last illustration you posted of him. Ah, people who do not obsess over tags... ;P

This idea flashed in my head almost as soon as Diablo Rojo started playing in my head - which is why the picture's got that title. (I really suck, suck, suck at picking titles. The only other option was something like "flash" or "lightouse". So Diablo Rojo it is... even though it doesn't have even a hint of red.) I love that song so, so much. The quality on the video isn't astounding, but it was the best I could find online. ;)

...incidentally, I also wrote "surprise!" under fandom because, I have to admit, I had no idea what the fandom name was. :P

Title: Confucius say dumbshit
Rating: G
Fandom: Liquorverse
Characters: Rickey and Paco!
Notes:

HAHAHAHA YES I GOT ANTEDILUVIAN TALES AND I DIDN'T TELL YOU. :P Actually, I only got it Saturday before last - and I got all gleeful, thinking that oh, it would be nice if I could do you an illustration for each single story (which, yes, is the reason why I didn't tell you) - then real life (and hp_springsmut) got in the way, and I half abandoned the project until, leafing through a magazine, I saw a photo that made me go "Hello, Paco."

And I loved the Working Slob's Prayer. (The prayer itself, too. :D) I had this mental image of Rickey and Paco glaring at the waitress with the same expression - or, rather, Rickey doing the same expression as Paco - and I found it way, way too cute not to try and draw it.

Of course, the cute part got lost somewhere between my head and my hands. And... they don't quite sport the same expression. But I tried?

I also butchered brutally a sentence to make the title, I know, but I loved that line and it was really too long to make a title. :P

Happy happy happy birthday, darling. Seriously. I LOVE YOU. Now you'd better go, relax and let other people work instead, so that you can concentrate on having the best day possible, Y'HEAR ME?

I did get the feeling I'd seen your username somewhere, when I saw the notification :D

Hehehehe! Oh shush, I've seen yours and it's brilliant. ;D

BOY am I glad you like the series! I love it so so so much, so it's really good to see other people appreciating it as well. ;)

And thank you so so so much, too. You're a darling! ♥

Not at all! I love looking at art. Which I did lots of, after I left the last comment--I went all the way back and looked through all your art. You are GREAT! Yay, and we share a load of fandoms! Unfortunately I'm very bad at creating my own fanart contributions. Mostly I make them for friends, of their comics, when I owe someone or it's their birthday or Christmas. When I was a small child I had a conversation with a grown-up artist I met in a museum, wherein he told me that if I wanted to be a comic artist I must always draw my own characters and never copy other people's. I followed this advice religiously for most of my young life and while I think it helped me to grow a lot, it really crippled me in the area of being ABLE to draw other people's characters. Ah well.
Also, Jo and I have agreed that you have the best name in TIME. ^___^

Oh dear. All of it? ^^; There's some stuff - welllll... enough stuff, really - that, you know. I find my mind keeps blanking it out. ;P But I am glad you've liked what you've seen! :D (Although yes, I'm maintaining you're being too sweet to me. ;P)

The bit about the fandoms made me curious :D I'm guessing HP, and possibly Torchwood, right? Discworld as well? <3

Hmmm... you know, I'm not sure that's a bad things. I think it's interesting trying to draw other people's characters using one's own style, you know? :D I've seen a few - like, a tribute from a famous artist to another - and it always had a peculiar effect on me. You could recognize the character, but it had something... different. Something more. :)

*laughs* My name? :D Which one, Brunella or Kasche? ;P

*laugh* Brunella! I love that name. My name is Traci--not bad as names go, but nothing interesting or pretty like yours! I haven't read Torchwood, or even heard of it. Is it good? Should I check it out? I've read all the Diskworld novels and love love love them. The watch are my favourite--I have a special thing for Carrot and Angua. And Gaspode. I want to adopt a little terrier and name him Gaspode! Of course I've read all the HP's too, but then again...not many people haven't! I love that a series could be so popular as to get even people who don't read for pleasure much, like my husband, to sit down and devour an 800 page novel. It made me so happy to see my husband reading every night. We read quite a bit of the books aloud to each other too. I can't wait until my kids are old enough that I can read long books to them. Right now I'm limited to "Peter Rabbit" (abridged) and "Moo Baa La La La" *sigh* I have a bunch of favourites picked out for reading as soon as my eldest has the attention span, though! ^^

*still laughing* With or without knowing that I'm practically named after a wine? *g* (Now, if you ask my mom she'll definitely deny it and claim it was because a colleague was named like that and it sounded well with my surname, but it is a standing fact that (a) Brunello di Montalcino (http://www.consorziobrunellodimontalcino.it/brunello/ns.asp?wci=home&lng=1033&cur=0) (fine, fine wine) exists, and (b) that my parents do love eating well and drinking better. ;P )

Do check it out - oh god, that series is so much crack. But with serious undertones, which made me love it all the more. Plus, Gareth David-Lloyd looks great in a suit and John Barrowman inspires naughty thoughts every day of the week, which isn't something one should ignore so lightly, either... ;)

OH, DISCWORLD. My addiction to it knows no bounds. I'm still catching up with it (as much as my wallet (and the bookshop assortment) will allow ;P), but I've just finished the Watch series. Carrot and Angua! Oh, the love! And Gaspode. Oh man, I LOVE GASPODE SO MUCH. You know the bit, in Man at Arms, when Carrot and Angua first get together - all that bit with Gaspode up to and including Angua thworing him out of the room? ('You need me!' the dog whimpered, as he was carried to the door. 'I mean, what does he know? His idea of a good time is showing you the Colossus of Morpork!') I laughed so much my eyes were streaming. Seriously.

And you know, I don't think I loved the HP books half as much as I'm loving these. ;P And isn't it so good when you get to share them too, and bring more people to them? ♥

(Speaking of children's books - have you seen "Where's My Cow"? ;D)

Oh, god yes. I own "Where's my Cow?" You have no idea how much of a nerd I am for Terry Pratchett. I also own "Nanny Ogg's Cookbook" which is the absolute business. I love food, love to cook, and absolutely needed with all my heart to know how to make Distressed Pudding. That book was brought down out of the sky by angels. And I agree, I actually enjoy the Discworld books quite a bit more than HP, I think because they're so funny and less intense to read. I get a lot of enjoyment out of reading intense books sometimes, but I admit my favourites are generally lighter fare. And I love me a happy ending. RAH, I just finished reading "Tarzan of the Apes" (the original Edward Rice Burroughs version) and I am reeling from the fact that TARZAN DOSEN'T GET JANE IN THE END. WHAT THE CRAP. I feel like putting my hands over my ears and singing "LALALA! YES THEY DO END UP TOGETHER!" Aw, I have no sense of good literature.

Anyway! I will definitely put Torchwood on my reading list! I'll check the library next time I'm there! Thanks for letting me know; it makes me so happy when people reccommend good books to me.

Oh boy, I'm afraid I might be becoming one, too... I have never been one for gadgets of any kind, for anything, but but but I find myself with an urge to get the map of Ankh-Morpork! ;P And oh, I did see Nanny Ogg's Cookbook around... and I'm stifling an urge not to get it. ;D I will probably lose, though, so it's all right. I mean, Distressed Pudding! ♥♥♥

Yes! :D There's this one book I read, a couple years ago, which I absolutely loved - but I have yet to pick it up again, because it was so painful. (I also decided not to read the following book published by the same author, because I was sure it would disappoint me. How screwed up is that?)

Oh! No no no, I'm sorry, it's a tv series :D It's a spin off of Doctor Who, but can easily be seen as a stand alone. I have yet to see a single DW episode myself. ;P It's on BBC America, I believe?

*GASP* I SEE YOU THERE, MACKIN' ON BRUNI!!! (With the best icon in the known universe, I expect.) ... And yes, you two have Liquor and HP and Discworld in common, don't you!

*laughs* Who would she be, then? The Paul of the situation? ;D (Or Helmut, or Ken, or... what was the name of that doggie-like guy again? I can't remember! :o)

...and I suppose I should stop thinking of people in Liquor terms, right? Right. ;P
